Redeemer has long talked about creating a “distance learning” program to accommodate the increased metro traffic and busy lives of Redeemer members. A silver lining of the pandemic is that we learned to use virtual meeting platforms quickly out of necessity.
The Digital Media Committee (DMC) is designing a hybrid meeting/learning program for Redeemer. In the last month, the DMC has supported hybrid options for preschool graduation, staff meetings, council meetings, synod meetings and we are just warming up!
Our goal is to have multiple Redeemer spaces ready to hold hybrid meetings or classes at the same time on–for example, a Sunday morning or a Wednesday evening–by Sunday, August 22nd.
The DMC needs YOU! Not tech savvy? Even better!
If you would be willing attend one or more test meetings over the summer (either in person at Redeemer or via Zoom), that would greatly assist the DMC compile best practices for our teachers and leaders for getting the most out of the technology without making the team members at home feel isolated. As every teacher knows from the past year, that takes some practice!
If you can volunteer just once or more often over the summer, please email DMC Chair Mary Howle.
