Baptisms

Baptism is a Sacrament, one of the ways God bestows grace upon us. It is how God claims us as children of God, brings us into a loving faith community, and seals us with the Holy Spirit so we can go out and share Christ with others. Baptism is the beginning of a life-long journey which can start at any age; all baptized Christians continue to grow in maturity and understanding of their baptism throughout their lives.

Redeemer offers Baptismal Festival Sundays throughout the year. Festivals feature a special liturgy in which baptism is central. The whole worshiping community is reminded of their own baptismal vocations and gathers around the newly baptized.

The parents, participant’s sponsors and congregation make promises to support the participant throughout their life. We also learn about our Faith Stepping Stones Ministry that helps the parents and congregation fulfill these baptismal promises.
