Volunteer at Redeemer

We are taught to use our time, talent and treasure for God. Redeemer always needs lay people with energy, skills and talents to volunteer in each of our ministry areas.
Worship
As you may know, most of the worship service is supported by volunteers, working quietly behind the scenes at easy to learn, tasks. You can join the Worship team helping with tasks including, but not limited to:
- Ushers
- Greeters
- Lectors
- Altar Guild
- Wedding Guild

Property
This team works with management of the 60,000 square foot campus which makes up Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. We are always looking for specific facility management expertise. You can volunteer with the Property Team doing specific tasks including:
- Redeemer Bloomers & Redeemer Gardeners, who help maintain and beautify the grounds.
- Help with a specific task using your expertise
Congregational Care
- Become a monthly Visitation Minister with our at-home members
- Write prayers and notes of encouragement
- Provide a meal after births, surgery, or death in the family
- Provide a ride to church or doctor’s appointments
- Become a new member shepherd welcoming new members into Redeemer
- Become a mentor during life transitions: new parents, caring for elder parents, caring for a family member with special needs, grief, and others
- Be a volunteer coordinator
- Become a Stephen Minister
- Call elder members
- Knit or crochet prayer shawls or scarves
- Host a small group based on your interest: hikes, board games, book club, dining out, gardening, and others
- Conduct a wellness seminar

Media
All of Redeemer’s worship services are available online using Livestream. This ministry team is supported by AV technicians. If you have an interest in supporting the Media Ministry, you can join the team as:
- Assistant AV Technicians
- Meeting Room Hosts (provides basic AV support)

Children & Family
Redeemer has a vibrant, exciting faith formation program for children beginning at age 2 up to the fifth grade. We need people who want to help with this age group. Volunteer roles include:
- Sunday School Teachers
- Event leadership and staffing including but not limited to:
- Vacation Bible School
- Retreats and camp-outs
- Easter
- Advent
- Monster Mash
- Sing & Play including the famous Dad Band

Youth
Beginning in the sixth grade through high school graduation, young people can participate in Redeemer’s Youth Ministry. Volunteering with our teens supports this vital program including these roles:
- Sunday School Teachers
- Confirmation Leaders
- Event leadership and staffing include but not limited to:
- Retreats
- Lock-ins
- Mission Trip Chaperones
- Managing fundraising activities

Adult Faith Formation
Growing faithfully in our understanding of scripture is a critical part of discipleship. The Adult Faith Formation at Redeemer includes programming from Young Adults to Seniors. There are many roles to volunteer with this ministry including but not limited to:
- Sunday School Teachers
- Small Group Leaders
- Retreat Leaders
- Book Club Facilitators

Community Engagement
- Lutheran Community Food Ministry
- Volunteer opportunities include but not limited to include:
- Serve meals to our neighbors
- Assist in the distribution of sock, t-shirts, and hygiene kits
- Serve beverages to our neighbors
- Staff the greeting card table
- Volunteer opportunities include but not limited to include:
- Lutheran Towers
- Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Donate items for new resident gift baskets
- Serve on the Board of Directors
- Participate on the Auxiliary Board
- Organize a non-perishable food drive for the LT pantry
- Write “Thinking of You” cards for the residents
- Contribute to the Benevolence fund that provides support to feeding programs, holiday celebrations, birthday parties, and food pantry for food-insecure seniors
- Take part in legislative advocacy (writing Congress members) for senior public benefits, i.e. Social Security,
Disability, SNAP, Medicare, subsidized housing, etc.
- Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Goshen Valley
- Assist with Redeemer Work Days at Goshen Valley
- Organize Clothing and School Supplies Drives
- Community Engagement
- Volunteer with Bethlehem Village and the Live Nativity
- Volunteer with the Living Last Supper
- Volunteer with any of our other Community Outreach Partners.

Finance
While Redeemer is a church, we must also operate on sound fiscal policies and procedures. Perhaps your talent or skill is in accounting or investments. You can volunteer with:
- Tellers (Count Offering on Sunday mornings)
- Finance Ministry Team (Fiscal Oversight)
- Audit Committee (Reviews Audits)
- Memorial Funds Trustee Committee (Oversees the Church’s Investments)
